The Town of Silver City Regular Municipal Election will be held on March 3, 2009 for the following elective offices:
- District 1, one Councilor for a two-year term.
- District 3, one Councilor for a two-year term.

The Town requests the public’s assistance in locating very important permanent records and property of the Town. The original Minutes of the Town Council Meetings that were held between April 8, 1878 through April 30, 1902 and from April 5, 1911 through February 10, 1925 are missing. Also missing are the original Ordinances that are numbered 1 through 40.
The Town has copies of some of these records, but would like to locate the originals. The Town has no record of the Minutes of the Town Council meetings that were held between June 7, 1891 through April 30, 1902 and from April 5, 1911 through February 10, 1925. The Minutes were probably bound in a large red leather book, and were either hand-written or typed.
The records are important to the history of the Town of Silver City. The records are Town property, and we would like them returned. If you have them, please return them to City Hall, the Silver City Public Library, or the Silver City Police Department by July 15, 2008. If you have any information regarding these records, please call the Town Clerk at (575) 534-6346. Thank you.

Noise Ordinance Advisory
Committee Vacancy:
The Mayor of the Town of Silver City is accepting applications to fill two (2) positions on the Noise Ordinance Advisory Committee. One position will represent Town Voting District No. 4 (map) and one position may represent any district.
The Committee will make recommendations to the Town Council on all aspects in the development of a comprehensive and enforceable Noise Ordinance. The Committee consists of seven people acting in a voluntary capacity. The Committee members are appointed by the Mayor, with consensus of the Town Council. Applications may be picked up at City Hall, 101 W. Broadway, Silver City, or printed from the Town’s website.

Cemetery Board Vacancy:
The Mayor of the Town of Silver City is accepting applications to fill one (1) position on the Cemetery Board.
Applicants must reside in Grant County and have an active interest in the management, care and maintenance of Memory Lane Cemetery. The Board meets on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. The term will end January 31, 2010.
Applications are available at City Hall, 101 W. Broadway or at www.townofsilvercity.org. Please contact the Town Clerk at 534-6346 if you have questions, or would like an application mailed or e-mailed. Applications will be accepted until filled by appointment of the Mayor.
