  • RFP: Sewer Line Connection and Septic System Abandonment
    Posted: August 9, 2017.
    The Town of Silver City is requesting competitive sealed proposals with the intent of entering into a contract with licensed utility contractor(s) to furnish all labor, materials, and equipment for construction of sewer lines from stubbed service lines to approximately 162 residences in Grant County currently using septic systems. This (RFP) describes the required submittals from interested companies, and the evaluation criteria that the Town appointed Professional Services Committee (PSC) will use to evaluate the proposals. This is a qualifications-based selection with cost as a consideration. The cost proposal will be evaluated separately from the technical proposal.

  • Public Utilities Notice: drinking water report
    Posted: July 6, 2017.
    As required by the Environmental Protection Agency, the Town of Silver City has prepared and issued its Annual Drinking Water Report, which provides customers with information on the Town’s water system and its monitoring activities.  

    The report was distributed by mail to all customers currently listed as bill paying consumers, however, the Town realizes that not all consumers are responsible for payment and will make copies of the report available to those individuals at City Hall, City Hall Annex, and the Silver City Public Library during regular working hours.  Copies of the Annual Drinking Water Report are also available in Spanish at these locations.  

    If any individuals have questions or concerns regarding the sampling of water or the water system, individuals are encouraged to attend Town Council meetings to voice their concerns.  Council meetings are held every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month @ 6:00 p.m. at the Grant County Administration Office, 1400 Highway 180 E.  For more information, please contact the Utilities Department at (575) 534-6365.
  • Public Utilities Notice: lead and copper testing

    As required by the EPA and the New Mexico Environment Department, the Town of Silver City is preparing to perform lead and copper testing of its drinking water on the fourth week of July 2017 (July 24 – July 28).  The Town of Silver City is seeking volunteers for lead and copper testing based on the following criteria:
    1. Drinking water at residence must be supplied directly from the Town of Silver City.
    2. Residence must be a single dwelling home, preferably built after 1983 or has had new plumbing installed after this date. 
    If you are interested in participating in the Town’s lead and copper sampling (free of charge) or have any questions, please contact the Utilities Department at (575) 534-6365.
