To provide adjudication over all violations of Town Ordinances (Pursuant to the Rules of Procedure for the Municipal Courts as set forth by the Supreme Court of New Mexico. To Try contested cases, complaints that allege ordinance violations filed by Citizens, the Town's Code Enforcement Officers, Animal Control Officer and the Town's Police Officers.DESCRIPTION:
Adjudication of all violations of Town of Silver City Ordinances. The Court may punish for these violations by fine and jail sentences. Try Contested cases, complaints filed by citizens, Town's Code Enforcement Officer, Animal Control Officer, and the Town's Police Officer. The Court has the power to issue subpoenas, summons, suspend Drivers' Licenses, issue warrants and also has Contempt Powers Maintain accurate keeping of court records for cases tried and processed thru Municipal Court. Any oral or written request of such records are to be given or sent to the requesting party within three working days. Responsible for submitting monthly reports to the Town Administration, and Town Council of monies collected by the Court and a monthly Bond Money Account Report.
