Fire Department Promotions
Chief Lambert announced the acquisition of Roger Cruzan from the towns code enforcement division. Roger Cruzan has filled the role of Fire Inspector I and will be doing business inspections as well as fire prevention/education for the department.
Chief Lambert announced the promotion of Paul Ortiz to the position of Lieutenant. Lieutenant Ortiz previously held the rank of Driver/Operator and has been with the department for over 10 years. His new responsibilities are that of a shift officer as well as the leader of the fire departments Honor Guard.
Chief Milo Lambert has announced the promotion of Kylle J. Marshall from the position of Driver/Operator to Fire Inspector II. Kylle’s responsibilities will be inspections as well as public education for the department.
Chief Milo Lambert was selected as the new Fire Chief for the Town of Silver City in May, 2017. Chief Lambert has been with the department for 13 ˝ years, with 10 of those being the town's Fire Marshal.
Chief Bencomo recently announced the promotions of Nathan Schwarz (left) and Aaron Seavers, (right). Schwarz was promoted to the position of Fire Captain and will be responsible for overseeing Shift B personnel and daily operational duties for both Station One and Station Two. He assumed his duties on April 21st of this year. Seavers was promoted March 25, 2013 to the position of 2nd Lieutenant. He is presently assigned to Shift B and will undertake additional duties as given by Shift Captain
David Gonzales is seen here conducting daily checks on Ladder One at Station Two. He was promoted to Driver/Operator on May 22, 2013.Gonzales met all testing and requirements set forth by the Silver City Fire Department for this position. He is currently assigned to Shift C.
On May 22, 2013, Preston Johnson was promoted to the position of Driver/Operator. He is seen here conducting some driver training on duty. Prior to his promotion, he held the position of Firefighter/EMT-Intermediate.
He has met all departmental requirements and testing for this position. He is currently assigned to Station Two.
Eugene Rodriguez and Paul Ortiz are seen here after Chief Bencomo announced that they both had been promoted to Driver/Operators on May 1, 2012.
Rodriguez has been with the department for 3 years. Paul Ortiz has been with the Silver City Fire Department for 5 years. Chief Bencomo stated, "both Rodriguez and Ortiz tested and completed department Drivers Packets, Pump Hydraulics Class, as well as the Certified Emergency Vehicle Course".
In addition, both were required to complete practical exams and logged numerous driving hours.
Mike Davila is seen here typing out a fire report at Station One. Mike was recently promoted to 2nd Lieutenant and has been assigned to oversee daily shift operations.
Lt. Davila has been with the fire department for over 4 years. Prior to has promotion, he held the rank of Driver/Operator.
Jesse Glick was recently promoted to Fire Lieutenant. Lt. Glick has been a member of the fire department since 1999. Along with his current position, he is a National Registered EMT-Paramedic. He is currently assigned to Shift C and will be assigned to oversee Station Two operations and any other duties given to him by his Shift Captain.
