Town of Silver City Lifts Fire Restrictions
With the onset of summer rains, and a decrease of fire weather, the Silver City Fire Department will be lifting the current fire restrictions, allowing residents to practice in permitted open burning to reduce yard waste such as weeds and tree limbs.

Although the restrictions have been lifted for the Town of Silver City, citizens are required to pick up a “Burn Permit”, and participate in fire safety.

Do not burn during periods of high wind and be courteous and aware of the effect of smoke to neighbors and other citizens in the area. Always have a shovel and/or a water hose available and place your fire away from low hanging branches and dry grasses. As always, when finished burning make sure all fires are fully extinguished before leaving the area unattended.

For any questions regarding open burning, please contact the Silver City Fire Department:
  • Station-1, 1011 N. Hudson Street – 575-538-2591 or
  • Station-2, 1923 E. 32nd Street – 575-388-3050
